Advocacy Manager

Alfonso Directo Jr. serves as ACT-LA’s Advocacy Manager where he leads policy research and advocacy on campaigns with coalition members, elected officials and public agency staff. Over the last 15 years, he has worked to change systems of the built environment so that communities can thrive. Prior to ACT-LA, he designed and managed transit projects as a licensed civil engineer and also analyzed policy for a progressive elected official, nonprofits, and in his Urban Planning graduate studies. He feels proud of his family’s resourceful work ethic and multiethnic, Filipino and Asian American, roots in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
