LA Metro’s five-year, multi-agency law enforcement contract ends in 2022. Ending this more than $786 million contract is an opportunity for Metro to align with other jurisdictions in LA County by moving away from punitive, police-first models of creating feelings of “safety” and instead investing in services and support to holistically create real safety for all LA County residents.
